How can you tell if an autograph for sale is real? Such as i wanted to buy heath ledger's?

I am thinking of buying Heath Ledger's signature but I am wondering how you can tell if it is real or not? like on ebay and stuff anyone can just forge one and say it is. Or they can just print it. Is there any way or trick as to how you can tell>? or maybe a reliable website? Thanks
