I need help with the electrical system on a 1989 artic cat cougar 574?

the hand warmers and thumb warmer works but the lights do not. I have hooked a tester up to the headlight and there is no juice on either the high or low beam. i need someone to tell me what is wrong or where i can get a troubleshooting guide. Thanks
