Is it easy for a hospital corpsman to get promoted?

I'm in the Navy DEP as a corpsman, and i will be an E-3 when i graduate bootcamp, so I was just wondering how hard it will be to make petty officer 3rd cl, or to get any promotion for that matter. I plan to work very hard and do whatever it takes to advance..
