Why are children with ADHD looked down upon?
My son is 7 and has been diagnosed with ADHD. He also has a speech/language problem that hinders him from learning at a fast level. The school that he attends did away with resource cles all day and been reduced to 45min to an hour per day. My son can read words but doesn't read for understanding yet. He is a year 1/2 behind the rest of the kids in his cl. He has the ability to learn but the school system is not trying to help me. I am frustrated. As a mother this hurts me. They have labeled my son in a bad way not a good one. Yes, he moves around a lot, but he is still all in all a great kid. The teacher reinforces she has 22 other kids to teach besides my son. I understand that but are there other alternatives for the children who learn at a slower pace. This has caused my son to lose faith in himself. He told me the other day that he was a loser. What should I do?
