Which elementary grades are appropriate for a story reading?

I think the appropriate grades for a read aloud story would be pre-k to 3rd grade, possibly even fourth. The fifth and sixth graders would probably be better for short skits or a short clroom play. Maybe even have them take turns reading each paragraph of the story, that might be a fun and interactive way to enjoy reading the story and make it come to life!!
